I'm really interested, but I'm worried about the complexity of the sim killing my frame rates. How did it compare to the default aircraft or the FS KBT Super Hornet?

The Superbug's HUD is fully culminated.

In fact, here’s a bit of trivia about the horizon bar.

***It's not about keeping the horizon bar on the "horizon." As altitude increases, the perceived horizon shifts lower with respect to the waterline of the aircraft. This is due to the fact that the earth is a globe. The higher you go, the lower the visual horizon will appear. The Horizon bar in any HUD is a reference for the flight patch marker, nothing more. It will only appear on the "horizon" at sea level, as with any real HUD.***

Here’s a video of TrackIR being used.

http://www.youtube.com:80/watch?v=Xy-rCh307d8&feature=channel_page

And here’s a little snippet from their site:

‘True HUD collimation provides accurate velocity vector/flight path and targeting indication under all flight conditions. Designed with TrackIR users in mind, you'll find no equal in terms of HUD performance and accuracy.’

I'm still looking for information about the Superbug's HUD. The Aerosoft F-16's HUD is properly collimated and the horizon line STAYS on the horizon when using TrackIR, regardless of your position in the cockpit. I have not see another add-on that doesn this. I'm hoping Superbug does!

Thanks!

There are a number of carriers available for FSX, Paul, and a number of people actually had the Big E working in FSX as well, although unfortunately the method of doing so is now lost in the defunct Alphasim forum system that they closed.

I'm not sure this is the best place to really discuss them, however, as it takes away the topic from Pup's review. If you haven't already, could you sign up and post your question in our FSX forum? That way we can probably find what you need. Unfortunately the Alphasim Enterprise is one of a kind right now - no-one else has done one quite to that level of detail in either FSX or FS9 - but there are other options available, depending on what you need.

Paul - it's the USS Enterprise, "Big E".

Unfortunately my FS9 installation has died (it will load, but then crashes) and I'm not reinstalling it now as I'm using FSX by default, but this one would be right at the top of my shopping list, were I still in the FS9 camp.

Excellent review!

What a great review for a great plane.
Can you be more specific for the -AlphaSim carriers ? What is the exact name for the add-on needed from Alpha ?
Thanks
