FSDreamTeam GSX

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYz0ycvd3FI

Newly released for Microsoft’s Flight Simulator X, FSDreamTeam’s new “GSX” tool is another addition to the experience depth at airports – this time regardless of whether they are default or add-on.

While at first this might seem like a direct replacement for Aerosoft’s long term incumbent Airport Enhancement Services, there are distinct differences between the two and, depending on how you use your sim, you might like to consider running both side by side even if you are an AES user already. If you’re not, or have no idea what AES is, but fly to modern commercial airports in the sim then you might want to take a look anyway. For more details and to download the demo, visit the FSDreamTeam product page for GSX.

  1. Yes, but not quite as “in depth” as AES does, if you use that – except on FSDT’s own airports, anyway.

What it does is follows the AFD’s taxiways, unlike the default pushback, so if you select pushback, it will put the aircraft in the middle of the taxiway that leads up to/past the gate you are parked at, in the selected direction if there is an option.

I’ve just been playing about with the demo and reading the forum – it looks like there will be some degree, at least, of co-operation between Oliver Pabst and FSDT and the tool looks very useful indeed. It has limitations, definitely, but also has some very useful and interesting features for airliner simmers.
