Flight1 releases BatX

Fed up of having to rush through your pre-flight, because you know that if you don’t you won’t have enough battery charge to start the engine? Most simmers are aware of the ridiculously short battery life in FSX which has, unfortunately ported over into ESP and hence from there into Lockheed-Martin’s Prepar3D as well.

Flight 1 have now released “BatX“, a tool that allows you to alter the time taken for the battery to discharge and, if necessary, to recharge it with a single click. For more details, please visit the product page at Flight1.

  1. 12.95 for such a simple tool seems to be a bit pricey. I don’t mind paying for useful FSX tools, but this seems to be a rip-off.

  2. You have been able to do this in FSUIPC for at least 6 years if not a lot longer.

  3. That was my first thought, Andy, but FSUIPC is more expensive (although it does a collossal amount more as well, unlike BatX) and scares a lot if people with its apparent complexity.

I thought there was a little freeware utility that did it too, but can’t find it any more so it may have been part of something else that I’m thinking of.

    Personally, I use FSUIPC.

  4. Yes, seems tight-fisted. Imagine the good publicity if Flight1 emailed their existing customers with a free download of this utility.
I really love their Citation Mustang, but Flight1 do send out the vibe that they are doing you a huge favour and that you must be very, very grateful.
