In Boston Logan yesterday, a 787 of Japan Airlines parked at the gate had smoke in the cabin after passengers disembarked to the jetway.
There is no injuries but it was found coming from a battery overheat taking fire in the belly, according to ABC News.

Sounds like a runaway nicad battery.
I’ve checked on http://avherald.com/ but nothing about this news at this time… strange.
Anyway imho the 787 is one of the most beautiful plane 🙂
It’s plastered all over the rest of the press, Max. Maybe that particular site decided not to run it?
Whatever your thoughts on the Dreamliner, it’s having a bit of a troubled entry into service!
Read the 787 windshield crack incident on http://avherald.com/h?article=45bfcc30&opt=0 and you’ll find an explanation why they are not covering it.
Best regards,
