Logo_ASN

HiFi Technologies had released Active Sky Next SP1 Open BETA2.

ASN SP1 OPEN BETA2 in order to resolve a few issues some are experiencing, and (re)establish compatibility on various fronts especially with P3D v2.3.

Please be aware this SP1 is BETA2 and some problems are expected. Using a BETA version should be done at your own risk.

if you have used Prepar3D v2.3. this release is only way(or last beta1) to use Active Sky Next. think about risk by your own.
during 2 weeks. so many things were fixed. this is change log.

Beta 1 -> Beta 2 changelog:

  • Improved handling of unspecified clouds for complete data weather (previously it might prevent additional clouds to come up)
  • Fixed Constant cloud shifts / auto load with PMDG 777 related to alternate waypoints
  • Fixed an issue where gust induced turbulence would not come up
  • Fixed a crash when building the voice script in some cases
  • Fixed an issue with winds inaccuracy if more than one station was closer than 10 miles from the current position — Now it checks the closest one if is less than 10 miles
  • Added OTHH to airport database (must reset to defaults using Edit Station Database tool to see this change)
  • Fixed issue where ASconnect module would crash (and «there is a a problem with this module» message from FSX) if user has no write access to program files/fsx/p3d folder
  • Fixed grammatical error in «unable to install asconnect, please manually install» message
  • Fixed problem in International Sigmet lat/lon parsing where incorrectly formatted longitudes with a missing leading 0 could result in improper longitude values and invalid sigmet area depicted
  • Fixed problem in Wx Request Menu Winds Aloft Report where winds could be incorrectly formatted when surface elevation > 1500ft, and wind altitude levels below surface elevation might be shown in high elevation areas
  • Adjusted thunderstorm depiction to improve quantity of high calvus-type CB layers vs smaller cumulus layers
  • Changed default maximum upper visibility to 100 miles (vs 59) to reduce «clouds popping in distance» effect that can occur with lower visibility ranges
  • Added new feature/option «Enhanced haze simulation» which provides for a haze layer effect when no other clouds are present, and visibility is marginal (between 3 and 9SM). Default off. See user guide for more information.
  • Fixed problem in International Sigmet lat/lon parsing where incorrectly formatted longitudes with a missing leading 0 could result in improper longitude values and invalid sigmet area depicted
  • Adjusted visibility calculations with «Auto Adjust Upper Visibilty» feature to prevent extremely low visibilities at altitude even when user has set maximum surface visibility to extremely low values
  • Adjusted visibility calculations with «Auto Adjust Upper Visibility» to increase visibility substantially when at high altitudes, especially above 40,000ft, regardless of stability/seasonal computations
  • Resolved DNS issue which could result in failed activation or pirep downloads/posts
  • Changed default option for Enhanced turbulence to Off vs. On (as the effect of rotational commands may cause control lag issues on various aircraft especially light airplanes and helicopters)
