The real airport may currently be closed to commercial operators, with discussions ongoing regarding its future after the operator went into liquidation, but sim pilots at least can continue to use Blackpool International (BLK/EGNH) to its full capabilities, with the release of VFR Blackpool from RJ Sim for FSX and P3D.
Designed to compliment photoscenery, VFR Blackpool also works with landclass sceneries such as the default, or Orbx FTX offerings, as can be seen above. The product includes all major features of the airport and also local landmarks such as the Blackpool Tower and Big One rollercoaster, plus the adjacent trading estate.

Nice to see that should Blackpool close forever then we will still fly in and out of the place. Nice work even though I don’t have FSX and won’t be able to enjoy this particular addon.
Well according to various people, Blackpool is still very much alive with GA types, operating unlicensed presumably. I also understand that the discussions regarding reopening it for commercial flights, with a new operator, are going well so hopefully it’ll be back up and running sooner rather than later.
