Cygnus from Redbird/King Schools

The tagline for this video is “Cygnus: Taking Flight Simulation to the Next Level” and it covers a new application from Redbird flight simulation which, put simply, spoofs the location services on your iPad into believing that you are actually at a location determined by your position in ‘the simulator’.

In this instance, the simulator in question is one of Redbird’s own custom platforms as sold as a training aid by King Schools which is why, in the video, Flying magazine’s Robert Goyer is interviewing King Schools’ Andrea Stout about the software. It does, however, show part of the increasing use of tablet devices in the – particularly GA – aviation world and how such connections and interfaces can be used as training aids, whether for personal or school use.
