At SIMMARKET, transparency is a cornerstone of our platform, ensuring clarity for both developers and customers. With the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (MSFS24), we want to outline how compatibility information and upgrade policies are handled on our store:
- Developer-Driven Compatibility Information
All compatibility details for MSFS24 displayed on SIMMARKET come directly from the respective developers. They are the best authority on their products and are responsible for certifying their compatibility with the new simulator. When a product is labeled as compatible with MSFS24 in the store, it is certified as such by the developer, who can also provide technical support if necessary. If MSFS24 compatibility is not explicitly stated in the product’s title or requirements, and the product is not listed in the MSFS24 category, it should be assumed that full functionality in the new simulator is not guaranteed. SIMMARKET and the developer will not be able to provide support in this case. - Clear Categorization and Filters
Products confirmed as compatible with MSFS24 will appear in the dedicated MSFS24 category on the SIMMARKET website. They will also be easily identifiable on the Scenery Map in the SIMMARKET app, where a distinct MSFS24 filter will help users locate compatible content. - Upgrade Policies
When a developer provides an update to ensure compatibility with MSFS24, it is at their discretion whether to release the update for free or to charge an upgrade fee. This decision typically depends on their commercial policy and the scope of work required. Please remember that your initial purchase was for an MSFS20-certified product. While it might work in MSFS24, this has been suggested primarily by the makers of the simulator months ago. Third-party developers must independently verify their products’ functionality in the stable version of the new simulator.
We believe this approach ensures customers are well-informed while respecting the developers’ creative and business decisions.
MSFS24 compatibility plan of a few developers :
FSdreamteam
FSdreamteam fully supports MSFS 2024 with free updates for all existing products to address compatibility issues, according to their statement in the forum. We can not find a clue that includes Switzerland MSFS though, consider this one is for MSFS 2020 only until further notice. Users can install their products in MSFS 2024 using the FSDT Installer’s “RELINK” feature. GSX Pro is also compatible but currently supports only airplanes in the Community folder. Future paid updates will only apply to airports that have undergone significant real-world changes, incorporating new MSFS 2024 features. Read more.
Classic Aircraft Simulations
“[…] the Piper J-3 Cub is coming to MSFS2024 and will be available as a free update. Currently, it’s flying well with the updated flight model, but a handful of issues have arisen due to unexpected differences in the sims. Hopefully I’ll have a working version for you to try out soon.” Read more [Discord].

SimBitWorld
- Regarding the compatibility of A Pilot’s Life with MSFS24, it depends entirely on FSUIPC, a third-party tool not developed by SimBitWorld. While there are unconfirmed reports that the existing MSFS2020 version of FSUIPC works with the MSFS2024 Tech Alpha, this has not been confirmed for the release version.
- SimBitWorld assures users that if FSUIPC does not work on day one, compatibility will be addressed and resolved shortly after. Read more [Discord].
