SimWorks Studios – MSFS PC-12 Update and Airvan Work-in-Progress Status

SimWorks Studios has announced significant progress on the next update for their PC-12 and the Airvan project for MSFS. The PC-12 update is complete and nearing testing, featuring an extensively reworked flight model for improved accuracy and responsiveness. Key enhancements include autopilot retuning, engine refinements, EFIS bug fixes, and new cockpit seats, with potential cabin upgrades by Christmas. The update reflects lessons learned from the PC-12’s complex development, which has deepened the team’s expertise in MSFS flight modeling. Meanwhile, feedback on the altitude selector improvements is being gathered via Discord, signaling the team’s commitment to community input.

For the Airvan, most development is complete, pending sound integration and continued bug fixes. Recent updates include propeller retuning, instrumentation improvements, and texture adjustments. The Airvan serves as a testbed for SimWorks’ advanced wear-and-tear and failure modeling system, set to enhance reliability realism across future projects like the Kodiaks and PC-12 variants. This system factors in operational variables, such as overspeeding and environmental conditions, and requires pilots to monitor systems without explicit health indicators. While still in development, the groundwork is complete, with state-saving per unique aircraft and realistic component interaction poised to redefine MSFS aircraft realism.
