PMDG News: 737NG Update, MSFS 2024 SU1 Beta Insights, and 747-100 Development

PMDG has released an update for the 737NG, version 3.00.0112, which primarily addresses issues with the tablet, including a fix for the spinning logo bug. Additional improvements include refinements to LNAV and VNAV handling, autothrottle behavior during single-engine operations, and updates to cockpit textures and geometry. This update is available through the PMDG Operations Center for direct customers, with Marketplace availability expected shortly. The update also paves the way for future enhancements aligned with MSFS 2024.

Meanwhile, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024’s first Sim Update (SU1) has entered public beta. While PMDG notes that some critical bugs they reported have been addressed, it’s unclear if these fixes are included in SU1. The company is cautiously evaluating the update to ensure compatibility with its 777 and other products. PMDG encourages users to temper expectations until thorough testing confirms the update’s impact on their aircraft.

The PMDG 747 project has gained significant momentum as development shifts from the 777. Both the 747-100 and 747-400 are advancing simultaneously, with early previews of the 747-100 flight engineer’s station revealing exceptional attention to detail. PMDG plans to include virtual crewmembers to assist with complex systems, making the aircraft accessible for both casual and advanced simmers. The team has shared a glimpse of their iterative development process, marking a shift toward greater transparency.

Finally, the PMDG 777-200ER is nearing beta testing for MSFS 2020, with a free update for MSFS 2024 planned post-release. The 777-200LR will follow, although its release schedule depends on the stability of MSFS 2024 and SU1. PMDG remains focused on refining its lineup while emphasizing the importance of detailed testing before finalizing releases.
