Nick Cyganski has provided updates on three upcoming aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator: Baron Professional, Bonanza Professional, and Starship.
Baron and Bonanza Professional:
- Each model features three variants with improved 3D models and enhanced systems
- Bonanza variants: 2000s A36 (naturally aspirated), A36TC (turbo-normalized), A36TP (PT6A turboprop)
- Baron variants: 2000s B58 (naturally aspirated), 1984 58TC (turbocharged), 1985 58P (pressurized)
- New sound packages from Boris Audio Works
- Double the code complexity of original aircraft
- Ten unique upholstery options from different decades
- Improved avionics including GTNxi 750/650 bezels
Technical Enhancements:
- Physics-based reciprocating engine simulation
- Realistic instrument needle physics with cold weather effects
- Engine, cabin, and electrical system visualizations
- External features like power cart and propane pre-heater
- Approximately 100 additional manual pages per aircraft
- New paint schemes and panel designs
Starship Update:
- Release planned before June 2025 Flight Sim Expo
- MSFS 2024 compatibility confirmed
- Enhanced material rendering and ray tracing support
- Third iteration of material improvements
- Awaiting real aircraft sound recordings
MSFS 2024 Compatibility:
- Most Black Square aircraft being adapted for MSFS 2024
- New interactive exterior elements planned (pitot covers, doors, chocks)
- Steam Gauge Overhaul series will not transition to MSFS 2024
- Current fleet performing well in new simulator
