Aerosoft Flight has unveiled its roadmap for 2025, packed with exciting developments for flight simulation enthusiasts. The announcement includes new scenery releases, significant updates to existing airports, and a continued commitment to community feedback. The focus remains on delivering high-quality scenery products for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and the upcoming MSFS 2024.
Aerosoft Airport Düsseldorf: Coming to MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024
Originally planned exclusively for MSFS 2024, Aerosoft Airport Düsseldorf will now also be available for MSFS 2020 due to community demand. While the development is tailored for the advanced capabilities of MSFS 2024, Aerosoft has found a way to make the scenery backwards compatible without sacrificing detail within the limitations of MSFS 2020.
Customers who purchase the MSFS 2024 version will receive the MSFS 2020 version free of charge. The versions will be separate installations due to the different technical foundations of each simulator and will be maintained with platform-specific adaptations.
Mega Airport Frankfurt: Major Optimization Update in Progress
Aerosoft is working on a major optimization update for Mega Airport Frankfurt, one of its most successful sceneries. The update aims to improve performance for all users by:
- Optimizing 3D models and textures
- Revising Level of Detail (LOD) levels
- Balancing detail and FPS
- Improving memory and CPU utilization
The update will be free for all current owners of the Frankfurt scenery on both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. Future updates will include the implementation of Terminal 3 and an updated ground layout.
Aerosoft Airport Stuttgart: A New Scenery for Southwest Germany
Aerosoft is developing Aerosoft Airport Stuttgart (EDDS) for MSFS 2024. The development is led by Jo Erlend Sund and Lukas Vezyroglou. The scenery will feature a highly detailed and realistic implementation utilizing the latest technologies in MSFS 2024. Depending on demand, a port to MSFS 2020 may follow, similar to the approach with Düsseldorf. Aerosoft is seeking community input from individuals who work at Stuttgart Airport or have access to reference materials.
Mega Airport Paris Charles de Gaulle: Bonjour, Paris!
Aerosoft has announced the development of Mega Airport Paris Charles de Gaulle (LFPG) for MSFS 2024. This major project aims for a full high-fidelity representation of the airport, optimized for both visuals and performance. Aerosoft is also seeking community input for this project.
In Summary
Aerosoft’s 2025 roadmap includes new airports, major optimization updates, and community-driven collaboration. The company is committed to transparency, technical innovation, and building strong relationships with the flight simulation community. More sneak peeks, development diaries, and behind-the-scenes content will be shared on social channels and in simulators.
