A new team has started to produce and deliver photoreal sceneries for X-Plane 10 and 11 : Corsica and Ibiza islands in the Mediterranean Sea. As donationware, you are free to give some money or just download the files. A Sky Story website (askystory.com) reveals also they are going to develop airports (Libourne LFDI and then Casablanca GMMN, and most of them should be free according to the chief developer who got in contact with us. He added that users requests to work on other regions could trigger them to work on a photoreal scenery and then deliver it again…

You won your tickets to Solomon Islands close to Papua New Guinea in Oceania.Say thanks to Emerald Scenery Design, their donationware scenery works with both FSX and P3D. It will receive more updates as the development is not finished, but it’s already available as Beta. All the paradisiac islands have been modelled with custom mesh, photoreal terrain, hand placed Autogen, enhanced coastlines etc.

One of the biggest disappointments with FSX for scenery designers, when the sim was released umpteen-and-a-few years ago, was the fact that ACES neglected to include something called “conditional animations”. That means nothing to most people, but if I said “opening hangar doors”, “custom windsocks”, “piles of snow” and “this product is not compatible with DX10 preview mode” then that might mean a little more. They have also recently been updated to version 3, including numerous improvements and a whole new area; Australia. Due to server demand, however, they do request that the community please download only one of the 98 files at the same time. Click “Read More” for full details of the update and to find download locations.

You may have seen discussion of this recently over at Avsim but, if you haven’t, the 2d weather radar for use with Active Sky Next by Bryn Battersby is getting some very good reviews and comments from users. The author writes; “Because the HiFi hook collects data on cloud positions and writes precipitation to match those positions, the radar returns are seamlessly integrated with the weather in the simulator. The gauge is free, or you can pay what you reckon it’s worth. It’s available at gum.co/bryn.” More details on the gauge, which works in both FSX and P3D, can also…
