For Train Simulator 2014, Just Trains announce they have probably released “the  most realistic steam loco to date” : BR Standard Class 4MT 2-6-0. There were many kinds of locos before this models entern in service, and it was supposed to start a new range of standard locos to reduce maintenance costs. Just Trains delivers it with different liveries, cabs variants, and passengers coaches.

If you don’t trust Steam to actually be able to deliver what it says on release day, you’re far from the only ones… However that does mean that if you are a Train Simulator 2013 user, it’s time to start running that backup of all your content before the roll-out of the next version, TS2014, tomorrow. While there are no “new” routes or locos in the new package – all those now included as default previously being available as DLC – there are a lot of background changes and optimisations – many of which will appeal to those who wish…

Released a few days ago, Train Simulator 2013 has not had an easy way to figure out the locomotives you get in the base package. Railsimulator team posted a rolling stock album at Facebook so new users will have a better overview of the content. Other customers using Train Simulator 2012 can upgrade for free. We’ve mentioned James Woodcock’s website before with regards to information about previous Train Simulator releases and today he has uploaded a Podcast featuring an interview with two of the team from railsimulator.com, developers of current TS2012 and its replacement, TS2013. SBB Route 1 has been available as a boxed product for Railworks 3, but Aerosoft adds finally the download version ! After purchase and download of the 725 Mb file, you are ready for a ride in Swiss mountains, with a photoreal 70km long route with diesel and electric locos, passengers or freight carriages. Note that the modern RE460 locomotive is only here for AI traffic without cab. Activities, signals infos and manuals are included in various languages.

The image really says almost as much information as we have at the moment, but Railsimulator.com have announced that the next version of their Railworks/TS franchise, Train Simulator 2013, will be released on 20th September 2012. The only other information available right now is included in this image posted to Facebook, which gives some route and loco/unit information – including that at least one current add-on appears to be becoming a default route.
