FranceVFR recently released the wonderful LFRB — Brest Guipavas airport for FSX. There now is good news for FS2004 owners, because they have made a version for the ‘old’ sim available too ! “….. Brest Guipavas represents an extremely detailed French Regional airport in the West of France (Brittany). It includes high-definition ground textures as well as night textures. The scenery covers about 40 km2 and adds to the airport an extended photorealistic area including a specific autogen coverage…..”.

Also available in the simMarket ‘box range’ from Aerosoft now is their F-16 Fighting Falcon model for FSX. Unfortunately FSX doesn’t really lend itself for military aircraft, as there is little you can ‘do’ with them. But this particular model is so detailed that it is a fun to ‘just’ fly. Get it from the simMarket shop shelves now.

‘Fly Wonderful Islands’ (and land on them if possible?) have released their Gran Canaria for FSX. “…. Gran Canaria Airport (IATA: LPA, ICAO: GCLP), formerly known as Gando Airport, in Spanish Aeropuerto de Gran Canaria. It is the largest airport in the Canary Islands and the only airport in the islands with two runways, allowing it to have up to 53 landings and take-offs per hour….”. Now available from simMarket.

Flight Replicas from Canada has released an L-4 Grasshopper, the military version of the J-3 Piper Cub. It comes in four different versions with a shipload of liveries, from WW2 to Vietnam era to current-day restored civilian aircraft. Also included is a paintkit for the more creative souls among us. For FSX SP2/Acceleration and available on simMarket here.

More ‘stuff’ for our German readers. Halycon Seamulator 2008 (what’s in a name, anyway?) is now available on simMarket. If you’re not a great sailor, or the wind dies down, then there are also motor yachts and speedboats to handle in various regions around the world. Check out the screenshots here.

Icarusgold brings us a Pitts Special natively built for FSX. “…..The Pitts Special is a light aerobatic biplane designed by Curtis Pitts. It has accumulated many competition wins since its first flight in 1944. The Pitts Special dominated world aerobatic competition in the 1960s and 1970s and, even today, remains a potent competition aircraft in the lower categories….”. There’s a review of the model here and it can be purchased from simMarket of course.

Urakawa has released Airport Ground Vehicles for Narita Airport. “…..This is a program to setup the moving ground vehicles and ground staff to the specified airport. The details of the moving vehicles have been improved over the previous versions to create a more realistic feeling. This program also includes some static aircraft which open their freight doors and the working staff can be seen….”. Available on simMarket now.

Halycon Media repackages (and sometimes translates into German) existing download products into boxed products. Many of them have appeared on Abacus before. Today three more have been added to the simMarket shop. Panavia Tornado German only),  UAV Predator and Around the World in 80 Flights. The entire range of Halycon Media products can be found here.

Now in a box from Aerosoft and on simMarket: Mega Airport Stockholm Arlanda. “….. This is the hub of the capital of Sweden, now for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and FSX. Developed by the Design-Team “DreamFactorystudio” this scenery represents an absolute realistic recreation of the complete Swedish real airport……”. Now in the simMarket shop.

Thomas Richter is not content to make a landing in FS, he also wants to correctly simulate the braking of the aircraft afterwards. So if you’re a ‘reality buff’ then this product may be of interest to you: the Autobrake/Slippery RWY/Contaminated RWY/DBS (Dynamic Braking System). Available on simMarket now.
