As X-Plane goes version 9.69, the version 10 development keeps going. It will have a new world scenery database (OpenStreetMap OSM) far better for Europe, and even more detailed for USA. Add to this the database will be opened for users edits, to benefit to all other people.

Already known for years, Fraps is the reference tool to video capture the video games. While you are flying full screen, Fraps can take screenshots, record your flight on video and live display the framerates. The new version 3.4.2 fixes 3 bugs and enhances the OpenGL capture speed.

nVidia Inspector is a neat free graphics app for nVidia cards and the latest version 1.94 is available here. For those new to nVidia Inspector, it is basically a small ‘exe’ program that displays GPU hardware information (temperature, VRAM details, fan speed, driver version and clock speed, just to name a few), has an overclocking feature and allows you to set up your display settings (AA, AF, SLI, etc) for a large number of games including FSX (and FS2004).
