In mid-2024, M’M Simulations (MMS) released their rendition of Vilnius International Airport for MSFS 2020, later updating it for MSFS 2024. The add-on garnered praise from the community. Now, Lisium, known for their expertise in the region, has taken the initiative to create an even more refined version for both “sensational” simulators. Lisium rose to scene fame after their detailed Riga Airport release in January 2025. Let’s take a closer look at their Vilnius creation…

Reality Check
Lithuania’s capital, Vilnius, is located in the southeast of the country, just 30 kilometers from the Belarusian border. With around 610,000 residents, it’s the largest city in the Baltics. Its economy thrives on services, banking, the only stock exchange in the Baltics, telecommunications, mobile networks, and energy. Relatively new, the textile swap marketplace Vinted is also headquartered here.
The Airport
Vilnius Airport (IATA: VNO, ICAO: EYVI) covers about 330 hectares, only 4 kilometers south of downtown. In Lithuanian, it’s called “Vilniaus oro uostas” and is named after composer and painter Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, whose signature decorates the terminal entrance. Managed by the state company VĮ Lietuvos oro uostai (LTOU), the group also runs Kaunas and Palanga airports.
The airport’s history dates back to 1932. It was militarized during WWII and returned to civilian use on July 17, 1944. Aeroflot remained on site until 1991. A new terminal launched in 1993. Construction began in 2023 for a modern terminal just north of the old one, officially opened February 4, 2025, doubling passenger capacity.
Access is convenient by both road and train (Vilnius–Baranawitschy line). The railway stop is built in a sunken trough, so travelers use an elevator or stairs to reach airport level. Vilnius is the only airport in the Baltics with a rail connection.
The asphalt runway 01/19 measures 2,515 by 45 meters with:
| Runway | ILS | ALS | TDZ | PAPI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | CAT II | ALSF-II | Yes | Left/Right |
| 19 | CAT I | ALSF-I | No | Left/Right |
A Doppler VOR/DME (VILNIUS VNO 113.80 MHz) and RNP procedures support approaches from both ends.

Currently, 15 airlines link Vilnius to 50 destinations in Europe and Asia. 2023 saw:
- Passengers: 4,406,019
- Freight (tons): 15,884
- Aircraft movements: 38,687

Simulation
Lisium’s Vilnius is their fifth airport. The first was Liepāja (LPX/EVLA), then Palanga (PLQ/EYPA), next Ventspils (VNT/EVVA) in Latvia, and then Riga (RIX/EVRA), which gained recognition in early 2025. Liepāja, Riga, and Ventspils are in Latvia; Palanga and Vilnius are in Lithuania.
- Download size: 1 GB
- Installed size: ~1.9 GB (via shop apps)
- Previous MMS version sizes: 1.7 and 4.31 GB
Both approach directions blend smoothly with simulator scenery—no distracting scenery seams, but you will notice a famous Swedish furniture store on your way in! Lighting, signage, surface markings, and buildings match current satellite imagery. An exception: rabbit flashers are missing from the approach lights.
Parking positions are up-to-date with current flight nav charts. Interactive Visual Docking Guidance Systems (VGDS) serve parking spots 47–50 and 102–104.
Apron lighting is more subdued and realistic than in the MMS version. Landside and airside areas are both highly detailed: flags wave in the wind, terminals are attractively furnished inside, and the elevators move up and down.

The “station trough” with staircase and elevator is modeled, though animated trains and track are missing compared to the MMS version.
