Fenix CEO Expresses Concerns About Inibuilds A350 Release

Fenix Simulations‘ CEO Amir has made a notable statement on their Discord server regarding the recent release of Inibuilds’ A350. In his statement, he revealed that Fenix had been working on their own A350 simulation but discontinued the project.

According to Fenix, they had already arranged a partnership with a major airline that would have provided access to a real Airbus A350 for 3D scanning and data collection from a Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engine test bed. However, the project was withdrawn when Inibuilds’ development became public.

In his technical analysis of the Inibuilds A350, Amir points out various simplifications. He notes that the electronic monitoring system (ECAM) only has about ten percent of the functionality of its real-world counterpart. Additionally, the engine start procedure is not authentically implemented, and there are discrepancies in the autopilot functionality and Direct Law flight behavior.

The Fenix CEO sees this as part of a general trend in the flight simulation industry: marketing and quick market launches appear to be becoming more important than accurate technical implementations. He regrets that the traditional development approach, which takes more time for higher quality, seems to be less in demand among customers.

This development raises questions about the future direction of flight simulation products – balancing between the pursuit of maximum technical authenticity and the demands of a highly competitive market.

I don´t get why they pulled the plug for their own project.
If the Inibuilds A350 is this kind of low fidelity, shouldn´t this not encourage Fenix do do a high fidelity version.
