FlightControlSpotter Expands with Xbox Compatibility and v1.1 Update with Custom POIs & Landmarks detection

FlightControlTools has announced a major step forward for FlightControlSpotter, its in-sim plane spotting and tower camera utility for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. The tool is now compatible with Xbox Series X|S, significantly broadening its potential user base beyond the PC environment.

According to the developer, FlightControlSpotter has been specifically coded and tested to operate smoothly on console hardware, ensuring consistent performance and usability for Xbox simmers. Utility tools with this level of integration remain uncommon in the MSFS ecosystem, making this expansion particularly noteworthy.

At the same time, FlightControlSpotter receives update v1.1, which is now available to all existing SIMMARKET customers. New users will also receive the product directly in this latest version.

The highlight of update v1.1 is the introduction of Point of Interests (POI) management. FlightControlSpotter can now automatically detect nearby landmarks and points of interest and use them as spotting positions. Users are also free to position themselves anywhere in the world, create custom spot locations, assign custom names, and save them for future use. All saved viewpoints can be loaded or managed directly from the in-sim toolbar panel.

This new system enables a wide range of use cases, from permanent plane spotting positions near major international airports, to observer or jury viewpoints during multiplayer bush or group flights, as well as scenic locations such as runway thresholds, beaches, or dramatic approach paths.

Update v1.1 also introduces several refinements and fixes, including improved Spot View and Tower View behavior, resolution-based font scaling, refined altitude calculations, adjusted drone zoom for better aircraft tracking, and a new aircraft pause behavior when switching to distant Spot Views beyond 30 nautical miles.

FlightControlSpotter remains fully integrated as an in-sim toolbar panel and built on the native MSFS drone camera, offering full freedom of movement, zoom, and camera angles, with instant return to the cockpit when needed.

Further information about FlightControlSpotter can be found on SIMMARKET and on the official FlightControlTools website.
