Good news for all fans of the aerobatic genre: a new aerobatic sports biplane has been hatched. Icarusgold have released their Pitts S2B to the market! When Curtis Pitts first flew his “Pitts Special” in 1944, he probably had no idea that his baby would still be flying – and still be so intensely popular almost seven decades on.

The Pitts Special dominated world aerobatic competition in the 1960s and 1970s and, even today, remains a potent competition aircraft in the lower categories. This particulae version depicts an Aerotek-built S-2B with a 260 hp (194 kW) Lycoming AEIO-540-D4A5 engine, and upper wing auxiliary fuel tank, the landing gear and upper wings were moved forward six inches, 196 built.
