The well-known and appreciated freeware Boeing 787-9 from Horizon Simulations recently experienced several updates. Through this, a complete MSFS2024 compatibility was produced. Nevertheless, there are some things to consider:
The newest version of the 787 can be downloaded for free in the Headwind Installer. If the plane is already installed and only needs to be updated, a fresh installation is strongly recommended (that means uninstalling and reinstalling).
Furthermore, all MSFS2024 users must install the standard 787-10 before the first flight. For this, one goes into the Marketplace -> My Library -> Search for “787” -> Select “MSFS 2020 Premium” or “MSFS 2020 Premium Deluxe Upgrade” -> then activate the content.
The MSFS2020 Premium Deluxe Version must be in your possession and installed so that the Horizon Simulations 787-9 can be used!
Besides the produced MSFS2024 compatibility, there were also three small updates:
HS B787-9 Version 1.2.2 – Changelog:
- Problem with the speedbrakes during touchdown fixed, which led to “unexpected behavior” of the aircraft
- System adjustments from HorizonSim integrated for the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
HS B787-9 Version 1.2.3 – Changelog:
- Bug with the touchdown point of the main landing gear (MLG) fixed, which led to the landing gear not retracting or the aircraft standing crookedly.
HS B787-9 Version 1.2.4 – Changelog:
- Non-functioning physical CPDLC-/ACARS-buttons repaired in MSFS2024
