BeyondATC – July 2025 Development Update : GSX Integration, CPDLC & More!

The BeyondATC team has just shared a comprehensive July 2025 update, highlighting the major strides made in recent months as they focus on core stability and system refinement. While this development phase is quieter on the surface, the work happening behind the scenes is anything but!

Here’s what’s new and upcoming:

GSX Integration
Following community feedback, GSX integration is nearly ready for Early Access! The upcoming update will introduce separate ground handling options for arrivals and departures, offering greater flexibility.

Waypoint & Procedure Pronunciation Overhaul
Thanks to significant contributions from developer @loikkio, ATC now pronounces waypoints and procedures much more accurately—fully aligned with AIRAC data for each cycle.

CPDLC Rollout Begins
A phased implementation of CPDLC is underway. The first phase, including PDC clearance handling, is already complete. Expect ATC-initiated messages like altitude changes and frequency handoffs next, with pilot requests coming soon.

Advanced Airport Operations
Realistic runway assignment logic has been implemented at 200+ major airports, accounting for wind, time, and aircraft type. Spearheaded by @whakamolenz, this silent but powerful system delivers real-world accuracy.

Traffic System Overhaul
The traffic engine has been completely rewritten, reducing stutters and boosting realism with flight plans based on actual operations.

Historic Weather Support for MSFS 2024
In preparation for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, BeyondATC is developing support for 24-hour historical METAR data—fully compatible with the sim’s upcoming weather replay features.

Smarter Request Cancellation
No more getting stuck in endless loops—ATC request cancellation will soon be much more reliable and user-friendly.

Continuous Bug Fixing
Every release focuses on fixing not just bugs, but their root causes. The team encourages users to submit detailed logs to help squash issues faster.

What’s Next?
The next big milestone? VFR support. While the team is currently heads-down on stabilization, exciting new features are coming soon.
