Flying Fries has rolled out a major update (v2.1.0) for their Hughes XF-11 aircraft add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020/2024, introducing a wide range of enhancements and fixes that deepen both immersion and realism.
The update brings the second stage of the custom sound pack, with less “crispy” engine audio, improved fly-by effects, and dynamic acoustic changes depending on canopy or door position. Fun details have also been added, including a drinking bottle sound effect and a fix for the mysterious dark spot inside the mug after coffee consumption.
Visual improvements include new interior textures and objects, especially around the nose area, and clickable folded canopy covers under the navigator’s table. New VFX effects such as water spray and thrust dust are now featured, alongside an enhanced startup smoke effect for more realistic engine behavior.
On the flight dynamics side, the update addresses the aircraft veering left during throttle application on the ground, and introduces minor tweaks to engine and propeller behavior. Usability has also been improved with fixes to lever positions, autopilot and lighting switch animations, and magneto sound effects.
The user manual has been updated with new audio setup instructions, and numerous XML files have been refactored behind the scenes.
Discover this unique and highly detailed twin-boom reconnaissance prototype from aviation history, now even better in MSFS.
