TFDi Design – MD-11 Extended Simulation, Art Update & FS2024/Xbox Progress

TFDi Design has published a new development update about their MD-11 project, covering major steps forward in visuals, systems, and platform support. The team admits they are slightly behind their previously announced 60-day timeline but confirms that both the Extended Simulation package and the art overhaul are nearly complete for MSFS.

The new art pass includes a fully remodeled and retextured exterior, visible inner flap and slat mechanisms, ground service ports with detailed labels, and the long-awaited Pratt & Whitney engines. The cabin has also been almost entirely reworked, with new textures, added immersion effects, and further functionality still under wraps.

On the systems side, the Extended Simulation package brings 160+ failure scenarios, a full inspection and repair process, routine service options, unique airframe maintenance histories, and flexible realism settings for VATSIM/IVAO pilots. Improvements also extend to PROF and step climb logic, custom oil and vibration simulation, and additional cockpit refinements such as openable windows.

As for Flight Simulator 2024 and Xbox, TFDi is not aiming for a simple port but instead will adapt textures, models, and new FS24 features for a native experience. The team expects MSFS Xbox, FS24 PC, and FS24 Xbox editions to release simultaneously once testing is complete.
