SimWorks Studios has published a new development update detailing ongoing work on both the GA-8 Airvan and the Kodiak 100 across Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
For the GA-8 Airvan, updates to both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 focus primarily on flight-model improvements, addressing community feedback related to takeoff performance, acceleration—particularly at higher density altitudes—and overall climb and cruise behavior. On MSFS 2024, the Airvan also receives additional refinements beyond the flight model, including improved system initialization and startup behavior, visual fixes on specific variants, and general stability improvements. The MSFS 2020 version receives the same flight-model adjustments to maintain consistent handling across both platforms.
Development on the Kodiak 100 continues in parallel. The upcoming MSFS 2020 update introduces several quality-of-life and systems improvements, including improved reverse thrust behavior, the addition of a yaw damper, fixes to cabin systems and exits, and minor cockpit visual corrections. For MSFS 2024, recent builds have focused on visual completeness and usability, with interior and exterior refinements, improved LODs, updated cargo and skydive elements, preflight behavior adjustments, avionics refinements, and the inclusion of all MSFS 2020 liveries.
SimWorks Studios notes that remaining work for MSFS 2024 is centered on finalizing the sound package, completing the last round of G1000-related refinements, and overall polish and testing. Additional recent efforts include preparing livery and preset thumbnails for improved aircraft selection in the simulator interface, as well as further checks on G1000 NXi CAS annunciations and minor cockpit geometry details.
Regarding release timing, the next GA-8 Airvan update for MSFS 2024 is already complete and packaged for the Marketplace, with release currently pending the resolution of a small number of career mode–related issues. Meanwhile, updates for both the Kodiak 100 and GA-8 Airvan on MSFS 2020 are already queued and are expected to be released next week, bringing both aircraft in line with the latest fixes and improvements.
SimWorks Studios thanked the community for its continued feedback, noting that it remains an important part of the ongoing development process.
