DC Designs has shared a new development update, explaining the recent slowdown in production and what’s currently in progress behind the scenes. Due to personal obligations and ongoing UK heatwaves, the team’s productivity is temporarily reduced for the summer, but development continues at a steady, if slower, pace.
The highly anticipated update for the Concorde is currently awaiting final testing of its INS system. Meanwhile, work continues on the P-61B, focusing on undercarriage detailing and animations, along with continued progress on cockpit animations, though much of it involves behind-the-scenes coding.
A key announcement concerns the final round of MSFS 2020 updates to DC Designs’ aircraft: the removal of the payload-based method of adding weapons. This will be replaced with an in-cockpit selection system that ensures proper functionality in MSFS 2024. This move is intended to maintain compatibility with the new sim while avoiding full native conversion issues, as MSFS 2024 still presents significant challenges for developers—particularly with LOD implementation.
Expect fewer updates during the summer period, but DC Designs promises to return with more development news as progress resumes.
