MK Studios has broken its recent silence with a major development update covering several of its key projects for Microsoft Flight Simulator — and even a few surprises ahead.
The team announced that Helsinki Airport (EFHK) has now entered beta testing, with release expected within 7–10 days. The NDA will be lifted early next week, allowing for new screenshots and first-look streams to appear shortly after.
But the Nordic news doesn’t end there: a new version of Rovaniemi (EFRO) is also in development and scheduled for release in December, just in time for virtual flights to Santa’s hometown.
Further south, Rome (LIRF) has entered the model export stage, with beta planned by the end of November. Meanwhile, Vagar (EKVG) in the Faroe Islands is getting a complete rebuild for January, featuring a new satellite image, updated terrain and buildings, new POIs, and a refreshed apron layout with an additional parking stand.
Looking further ahead, MK Studios also confirmed plans to redo Porto and Fuerteventura during Q1–Q2 2026, ensuring continued support and visual quality improvements for their long-standing sceneries.
Lastly, the team is looking for reference photos of the new Keflavik terminal (exterior and interior) to assist with next year’s planned update.

It’s shaping up to be a busy winter for MK Studios, with updates spanning from Southern Europe to the Arctic Circle — and plenty to look forward to for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 users.
