DCS World: Update and F-15C beta

Cover2014-05May’s DCS newsletter has been sent out to subscribers, detailing the latest improvements and additions to the system, heading up with the release of the beta version of the DCS F-15C, but also including news of free aircraft for all users, plus package upgrades too.

The headlines for update 1.2.8, which can be downloaded through the sim or from here, are:

  1. A free TF-51D for all DCS World pilots.
  2. A new, free six degrees of freedom (6 DOF) cockpit for the Su-25T.
  3. A new 6 DOF cockpit for the Flaming Cliffs 3 Su-33.
  4. Sling loads for the UH-1H Huey.
  5. New Combined Arms 1.5 features.

Secondly comes the announcement of the beta F-15C, which is described as “As a DCS Flaming Cliffs title, F-15C focuses on ease of use without complicated cockpit interaction, significantly reducing the learning curve. As such, F-15C features keyboard and joystick cockpit commands with a focus on the most mission critical of cockpit systems.

Finally, Combined Arms gets a general upgrade to version 1,5, bringing updates including player controllable MANPADS (light, portable, surface to air missiles), the ability to control ships from the command map and aircraft in multiplayer, plus changes to detection systems and more.
