https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=3EIHh5cmJZQ Users of both either engine variant mounted on the Airbus A319 can make use of the appropriate releases from Turbine Sound Studios today, as they have released versions of their IAE-V2527 and CFM56-5B5 packages for Microsoft’s older sim. If, after watching the video above, you feel an A319 in your hangar could do with the improvement, the IAE package can be found here and the CFM package here.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=wd6clap4_X8 Turbine Sound Studio’s latest package is one that even default aircraft pilots can use – the Bombardier CRJ-900 with GE CF34-8C5 engines. You don’t only get the engine sounds though – the package adds a number of environmental and system sounds, too. It is available for both MS FSX and FS2004.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdKrAE5qva4 The Pratt and Whitney PW125B engines that power the Fokker 50 regional turboprop provide the basis for the latest sound set from Turbine Sound Solutions, giving a “from the cockpit” environment for pilots. As ever, not just the engine sounds are added; there are also ‘atmospheric’ cockpit effects, replacement gear sounds and wind noise. Find out more here for FSX or here for FS9.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOXfKvhH-Ms Many simmers will know the Eurocopter AS365 “Dauphin” as a slightly different designation – the HH-65 “Dolphin”, which was a modified version used by the US Coast Guard for Search and Rescue duties in a bright orange paintscheme. There are a handful of models of the AS365 and HH-65 available for Microsoft Flight Simulators 9 and X, to which users can now add an upgraded sound pack, if they wish, from Turbine Sound Studios. The video above shows the FSX version, but there’s a versions for FS9 available, too.

Aimed at the perspective of the pilot’s seat, the sound set features “externally Aircondition and APU sounds, and accurate wind sounds from the cockpit, the faster you fly, more wind noise will bleed away the engine sounds” and comes in versions native to both FSX and FS9.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-DYQwDW_T4 Synchro-Soft’s latest soundset is for the RB211-535 engined Boeing 757 medium airliner. Originally developed for the Lockheed L1011 Tristar, the RB211 series has gone on to provide sterling service on a number of Boeing airframes as well, including being a launch engine choice for both the B757 and B767 series. The video above showcases Synchro-Soft’s replacement soundpack in use with the Captain Sim B757, but in theory, it will work with any appropriate aircraft. Click here to purchase.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5EK2knqDdE The Rolls Royce BR715 engines fitted to the short-lived B717 replacement for the MD-80 series of airliners is unique to the type and part of a family that, apart from the B717, only powers Gulfstream long-range business jets and their military counterparts. Their sparsity in the real world is echoed in flight simulation, with very few being modelled – mainly freeware. If you have one, however and want an upgraded sound set in FS9 or X, Turbine Sound Studios have come to your aid, with individual packs for each sim. The FS9 set can be found here, while the…
