Hardware News For Cockpit Builders

If you are a home cockpit builder, then you will be interested in the Simkits TRC1000 glass cockpit.

The unique TRC1000 is a 100% scale replica of the most popular Glass Cockpit System as found in many modern aircraft and which display functionality is also supported by Microsoft Flight Simulator FSX and (with additional software packages from third parties) for Microsoft FS9.

The hardware is produced from quality ABS using plastic injection molding.

All buttons and rotary encoders work as you expect them to do and the high resolution TFT screen of the PFD and MFD displays is to be connected to a second and third video port (VGA) at your computer. This can be accomplished by using additional low cost video cards (can be obtained at your local computer store) and will be supported by your Windows XP or Vista operating system. Windows is able to control up to 8 VGA screens when available.

A complete TRC1000 system includes 2 main displays and one Audio Panel. The set includes therefore:

  • 1 PDF Display Unit with 800×600 screen
  • 1 MFD Display Unit with 800×600 screen
