Stars in FSX

When most people think of stars in FSX, they usually think about SIDs and STARs. Did you know that stars and constellations within FSX are completely configurable? Beyond that, they have been revamped to be represented in full 24-bit color, a significant improvement from FS 9. By default, there are 9096 stars in the night sky of FSX.

Chris Wright, a gentleman from the U.K. released a clever utility a few years ago called AutoStar for FSX. At minimum, this utility almost doubles the count of stars seen to 16,207. It also includes the capability to add comets and lunar eclipses. If you want the night sky to really come alive in FSX, I encourage you to check this utility out!
