Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Lands on PlayStation 5 This December

For the very first time in the history of the franchise, Microsoft Flight Simulator is coming to PlayStation. Microsoft and Asobo Studio have officially announced that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will release on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro on December 8th, 2025.

PlayStation users can expect the full experience that has defined the simulator for over four decades, featuring a massive fleet of up to 125 aircraft – from ultralights and general aviation to helicopters, eVTOLs, business jets, airliners, and even military transports.

To take full advantage of the PlayStation hardware, the developers have integrated immersive DualSense® features including adaptive triggers that respond to airspeed and ground conditions, ATC audio through the controller speaker, gyro input, lightbar support, and touchpad functionality.

PlayStation pilots will be able to:

  • Explore the globe with 40,000+ airports and 60,000+ helipads, all rendered in stunning visual detail.
  • Experience accurate, real-time traffic and dynamic weather.
  • Enjoy free World Updates and Sim Updates post-launch, alongside content from the bustling Marketplace.
  • Access the new career system, complete with firefighting, search and rescue, agriculture, aerial construction, and more.
  • Compete in the new Challenge League or enjoy more relaxed exploration and photography flights.

In addition, PS VR2 support is already planned as a free update for 2026, bringing full immersion with headset and Sense controllers.

Coinciding with the PlayStation launch, pilots will also be able to fly the Boom Supersonic XB-1, America’s first civil supersonic jet demonstrator.

Pre-orders are open now. All editions include the Northrop T-38A Talon as a bonus aircraft for day one. Deluxe, Premium Deluxe, and Aviator Editions grant early access starting December 3rd.
