X-Crafts – E-Jets XP12/11 now with Weather Radar & Development Roadmap

X-Crafts has released an update v2.1.0 for E-Jets Family in X-Plane 12 and 11. It’s a free update that introduces a fully functional weather radar and several other improvements. This update enhances immersion by displaying real-time precipitation on the MFD and PFD, allowing pilots to plan routes and avoid storms just like in the real Embraer E-Jets.

The new weather radar takes advantage of the features introduced in X-Plane 12.3.0, and users are required to run that version or later for full radar functionality. Alongside this major new feature, the update brings compatibility refinements, smoother flight director performance, and multiple bug fixes.

🛠 What’s New in v2.1.0

  • Ensured compatibility with X-Plane 12.3.0
  • New: Fully integrated Weather Radar with real precipitation data (requires X-Plane 12.3.0)
  • New: HSI now supports full compass, arc, and arc-with-flight-plan + WX modes
  • New: Option to hide missed approach in the MAP dropdown
  • Improved: Smoother flight director pitch after takeoff
  • Fixed: EFB crashes resolved
  • Fixed: Cabin lighting no longer visible through fuselage at night

📥 How to Update:
Users can update via the Skunkcrafts Updater or by re-downloading from the store.

🗺 Development Roadmap Highlights
While this update focuses on immediate usability enhancements, X-Crafts also revealed its future plans:

  • E-Jets 3.1 (Free Update) – To include the new weather radar and improved map system (target 2025)
  • ERJ Family 2.0 – A full rebuild for X-Plane 12 with extensive feature upgrades, aiming to set a new benchmark for regional jet simulation
  • E-Jets Family 3.0 – Expected in 2026 (Q1–Q2), introducing a custom autopilot with holds, dual MFDs, green dot speed, reworked cockpit and cabin textures, improved systems, and E-Freighter variants

This “bonus” v2.1.0 update ensures current users can already enjoy modernized radar functionality while the development team continues building the next-generation E-Jets lineup.
