FlightSim Studio AG has quietly crossed a major technical threshold for its E-Jets MSFS Series. Just ahead of Christmas, the team opened access to an Experimental build—the first public step toward fully custom FMS and Autopilot logic, including long-awaited VNAV.
This experimental branch introduces a bespoke FMS with LNAV and VNAV path calculation, paired with a completely reworked Autopilot feature set. For the first time, the E-Jets can now fly RNAV approaches using custom FMS/AP logic, moving decisively beyond default MSFS systems.
According to FSS, this is the earliest point where the new system reached sufficient stability to be shared—not as a finished product, but as an optional preview for experienced users who want to follow development at the sharp end.
What to expect — and what not to
FSS is clear about the nature of this release:
- This is experimental, not the final v1.0 experience
- No support is provided for the Experimental branch
- Existing data (EFB settings, calibrations) may not transfer or be preserved
Behind the scenes, the developer describes the FMS as the most complex and demanding project the studio has undertaken to date—one that has been promised since day one of the E-Jets roadmap.
With v1.0 now in sight, this Experimental release marks a turning point: VNAV is no longer a question of if, but how close. For the MSFS regional jet crowd, this is a significant signal that the E-Jets are entering their final systems-depth phase.
