Kodiak 100 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 by SimWorks Studios Releasing March 27 with Wheels and Amphibian Versions

SimWorks Studios has confirmed that the Kodiak for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will release on March 27th, following a series of development updates shared earlier this month. The upcoming version of the popular utility turboprop brings a reorganized product structure, significant system refinements, and a detailed overhaul of several aircraft areas.

For the MSFS 2024 generation, SimWorks Studios has decided to streamline how the aircraft will be distributed. The primary product will now be the Kodiak 100 package, combining both the wheeled and amphibian variants into a single release. In earlier simulator versions these variants were sold separately, but after analyzing usage and sales data, the developer concluded that most users prefer access to both configurations within one package.

The Kodiak 100 bundle will retail for about €35. For pilots who specifically prefer float operations, a standalone Kodiak Amphibian will also be offered. This floatplane-focused version will remain available separately, though its price will see a small €5 increase compared to the previous release.

Owners of the Kodiak for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 will benefit from a discounted upgrade path to the new version. The upgrade price is expected to fall between €15 and €20 depending on the store, representing roughly half of the full retail price.

On the development side, the final stages of work have focused heavily on the aircraft’s engine bay. After receiving new and more detailed reference material, the team chose to rebuild the engine compartment to meet the visual and technical standards targeted for the MSFS 2024 release. The PT6 engine installation has been reworked using a modular architecture where major components are modeled as individual elements. This includes systems such as the starter, alternator, batteries, bleed-air muffler, and other related hardware. The modular design improves both visual fidelity and performance, while also allowing future updates or modifications to individual components more easily.

With this work nearing completion, the project has effectively entered its final development phase ahead of the announced launch.

The Kodiak remains one of the most recognized utility turboprops in the flight simulation ecosystem, known for its versatility in bush flying, cargo transport, skydiving operations and floatplane missions. The MSFS 2024 edition aims to expand that flexibility further with a large number of configuration options, aircraft systems improvements and expanded cabin layouts.

Features announced for the MSFS 2024 Kodiak include:
