FeelThere introduces KRIC Richmond International Airport for MSFS, offering a highly detailed version of Virginia’s third busiest airport. Situated 7 miles southeast of downtown Richmond, this airport features a unique crossing X runway layout and a single terminal with two concourses and 30 gates.
Handling around 150 daily flights, it primarily serves domestic routes to cities in the South, Northeast, and Midwest USA. Additionally, Richmond International acts as an aviation support facility for the Virginia Army National Guard 224th Aviation Regiment.
The 2024 version of KRIC includes recent enhancements like a newly added de-icing pad and updated AFCAD with revised parking spots and taxiway names. It showcases highly detailed buildings with PBR texturing, custom animated jetways, and a complete ground polygon modeled with realistic decals, dirt, taxi lines, and surfaces. A partial internal terminal model, accurate airport elevation, and improved taxiway and runway approach lighting contribute to an immersive experience. Numerous objects and clutter, meticulously placed around the airport using the SDK and custom objects, further enhance the overall realism.
