The upcoming KLAX Los Angeles HD V2 for X-Plane 11 and 12, developed by ShortFinal Design, promises a significant overhaul of one of the world’s busiest airports. Existing users of their current product KLAX for X-Plane will receive the update for free. The update will feature a new midfield concourse, a completely modeled Terminal 3 with detailed interiors, and an airport layout updated to late 2024, which includes new exit taxiways and modifications to taxiway D. The update also enhances the airport’s realism with reworked ground textures and markings in higher resolution, along with XP12-specific weather effects.
Additional improvements include 3D vegetation, the introduction of the LAX automated people mover system with animated trains and associated buildings, and more detailed airport vehicles, now with FMOD sounds for dynamic realism. These updates aim to elevate the immersion for both X-Plane 11 and 12 users by offering a more authentic and visually stunning airport experience.
