Headwind Simulations: Major Update to the Installer

Headwind Simulations has released a comprehensive update to their installer, introducing new features for the A339X and its installer, along with the debut of a new tool called SimLink and the addition of a new content provider. Here’s an overview of the key changes:

Hues by Horizon Simulations: New Liveries for the A339X

A new provider, Hues by Horizon Simulations, is now offering high-resolution liveries in 4K and 8K for the A339X. To start, liveries for Delta Airlines and Virgin Atlantic are available, with more already in the planning stages.

SimLink: Enhanced Data for the Simulator

The new tool, SimLink, improves ATSAW functionality (Air Traffic Situational Awareness). It provides real-time information such as callsigns, ground speed, and wake vortex categories of other aircraft directly on the navigation display (ND). SimLink runs automatically in the background after being installed via the Headwind installer.

A339X Pre-Release v0.8-alpha.1: Updates and New Features

The latest version of the A339X introduces several updates:

New Features

  • Addition of a bulb panel.
  • Radio Altimeter (RA) callouts between 100 and 50 feet.
  • Expanded ATSAW functionality.

Improvements

  • Optimized flight model, including flaps and slats.
  • Enhanced sound effects.
  • Adjusted radio altitude for the flare mode (Fly-by-Wire).

Bug Fixes

  • Corrections to model and sound issues.

Installer Update 1.6.1: More Control and Stability

The installer now offers the ability to directly set the base path for MSFS 2020 in the options menu. Additionally, SimBridge by FlyByWire is clearly separated into its own category. Issues such as freezing during third-party dependency checks and download problems have been resolved.

Summary

This update brings several valuable improvements, including SimLink, optimized features for the A339X, and a more user-friendly installer. The addition of Hues by Horizon Simulations expands the platform with high-quality liveries.
