X-Crafts have revealed the very first images of their highly anticipated ERJ Family 2.0 project for X-Plane, showcasing a brand-new cockpit and avionics suite that marks a major leap forward for the popular regional jets.
The original ERJ Family was already regarded as one of the most visually detailed regional aircraft packages for X-Plane 11, but with the experience gained during the development of the E-Jets Family and Lineage 1000, X-Crafts is taking textures, modeling, and systems fidelity to an entirely new level.
Despite introducing much higher resolution textures and vastly improved cockpit detail, the developer emphasizes that performance impact will remain minimal, thanks to new optimization techniques perfected in recent projects.
Among the highlights of the upcoming ERJ Family 2.0 cockpit:
- Reworked avionics suite with completely redesigned PFDs and MFDs to match real-world avionics
- High-resolution moving map displays
- Brand-new Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) designed specifically for the ERJs
- Authentic FMS, making its long-awaited debut in the ERJ Family
- Flexible usability, with both FMS units available as pop-up 2D panels and drag-and-drop windows for multi-monitor setups
The aircraft are already undergoing rigorous internal testing by pilots and beta testers, ensuring systems accuracy and operational realism. According to X-Crafts, the ERJ Family 2.0 is on track for release later this year.
This is just the beginning of what X-Crafts has planned for their revamped regional jet lineup. For more details and a full gallery of high-resolution cockpit previews, visit the official X-Crafts announcement here:
