BlueBird Simulations has shared a progress update on their highly anticipated 757 project for Microsoft Flight Simulator, giving fans a glimpse at what’s coming before release. Since the last Expo, the team has made significant strides, particularly with the aircraft’s systems. The next video update, scheduled for Q4, will delve deeper into key systems such as pneumatics, FMS, landing gear, ice and rain, oxygen, and doors. The team highlights the pneumatic system as particularly detailed, with over 150 functioning circuit breakers so far and LNAV/VNAV functionality already around 70% complete. Screenshots shared are from MSFS2024, showing the team is actively testing the plane in the latest simulator version.
The beta process is approaching its first stage, delayed primarily by the complexity of the pneumatic system. During this time, other systems, including doors, oxygen, and landing gear, have also been refined in preparation for beta testing. The Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) remains the largest unfinished system and will be showcased in the final video update before release. BlueBird aims to ensure all systems are rigorously tested before reaching beta testers, promising a high level of realism and functionality.
Pricing for the 757-200/300, with both Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney engines, will be $80 USD. This includes compatibility for both MSFS2020 and MSFS2024, with a native MSFS2024 version planned for release later. While no official release date has been announced, the team hints that the aircraft will be available before GTA6 hits the shelves, giving flight simmers something exciting to look forward to this year.
