Virtualcol’s New Cessna 303

Virtualcol has released a twin Cessna T303 ‘Crusader’ model for FS2004 and FSX. It comes complete with 3 liveries, virtual cockpit, 2D panels and a paintkit for those wanting to try their own spraying. It is a prop twin that is maybe not so common and therefore possibly interesting for the model pilots gathered here. Get your copy at simMarket here.

  1. Great seeing someone model the Crusader, although based on the screenshots alone, the quality of this aircraft should move it into freeware category.

Actually, there are many freeware piston aircraft available of higher quality than this.

With the kind of developer tools available, I would expect any payware endeavor to be cutting edge. However, and in dissapointment, this aircraft looks like it could have been designed 3 or 4 years ago.

Creating something SPECIAL is where payware companies prosper and bring well executed platforms to market. Although the market determines success, I will decline from purchasing this aircraft despite my fondness for the 303 series.

I hope other sim pilots will make their own assessments, and my comments are purely aimed at encouraging Virtualcol to increase the quality of the next release with current-gen rendering and modeling capabilities.
