Infinite Flight for iOS

To follow up to last year’s release on the Windows Mobile phone platform, Flying Development LLC have released their Infinite Flight simulator through iTunes as a universal app for iPhone 4/4S, iPod 4 and iPad 1 or 2 (iPad 3 support is to follow soon).

Due to some certification issues, some aircraft are missing from the initial release, which still features 5 models, 2 regions and greater than 140 airports.

“Flying Development Studio LLC is announcing the release of Infinite Flight for iPhone/iPad

San Francisco, CA March 19th 2011 – Flying Development Studio LLC, the company behind Infinite Flight, the flight simulator for Windows Phone is pleased to announce their first iOS release.

Infinite Flight for iOS is a universal app that runs on iPhone 4 & 4s, iPad 1 & 2 and iPod Touch 4th Generation (iPad3 support is coming soon). All the features that are already present in Infinite Flight 2.2 are available in this new release. However, due to problems encountered during certification, some airplanes are missing from the initial release. They will make it into the simulator very soon. Priced at $4.99, this release include 5 aircrafts, realistic physics simulation, heads up display, autopilot, 2 regions with 140+ airports, time of day, configurable weather settings, a beginner tutorial, logbook and more.

To accomplish this port to iOS, Flying Development Studio used MonoTouch and a custom branch of the open source project MonoGame to which they added OpenGL ES 3D support.

Infinite Flight was released in April 2011 for the Windows Phone platform and has been well received by the community. It is used by thousands of pilots around the world every day and is ranked in the top 50 paid games. Regular updates have been released adding features, airplanes and regions.
