SCS release Blender Tools

Visitors to FSDeveloper may already be aware of the work being done by capt_x and numerous supporters/testers to bring us the ability to create Microsoft FSX add-ons using the Open-Source (free) Blender CAD/rendering package. Well now SCS, developers of the Truck Simulator series of titles, have also released the first part of their own Blender toolset for their sims.

Although the SCS Tool set is currently restricted to creating “static geometry”, so no adding your favourite truck or additional trailers to haul at this point, you can find out more and get download links for the tool set here.

As a related aside, simFlight has recently been looking into creating a brief tutorial on getting a simple scenery object from Blender into FSX. If you would be interested in this, please say so in the comments box, below.

  1. If you need any help with the tutorial or just another set of eyes to pass it by, I’d be happy to help. I’m a full-on Blender junkie now.
