Carenado announced that they are going to fully embrace the FSX technology. Fernando Herrera of Carenado said: “Due to some incompatibility issues with some aircraft with SP2/AP, the company decided to develop again its complete fleet from zero to be full FSX and DX10 compatible. Each new development will be a separate package specially developed for FSX and DX10 and will have all the new amazing effects and features only achievable with FSX and DX10 .
The company is not developing FS2004 compatible aircraft any more, but will maintain its current FS2004 fleet as it is.”
The first aircraft developed is the Piper Cherokee which is already released (www.carenado.com). This aircraft takes advantage of all the new features FSX and DX10 allow like cast shadows on VC, external dynamic cast shadows, normal mapping, specular mapping and bloom lights resulting in a completely new generation of Carenado products.
You can buy the Cherokee here at simmarket.

Excellent news
Sounds very promising.
Has anyone seen any screenshots from the cockpit? I could only find some shots of the cabin, but none of the instruments.
Cheers,

We’ll get you some 😉
I’m on it – edit: Done! See post
I hope they upgrade the Centurion to a turbo/pressurized etc.
Very cool!
Thanks a lot for the cockpit screenshots.
I like the used look of the cockpit!

“Carenado announced that they are going to fully embrace the FSX technology”.
Did they not do that with the Mooney?
I must admit I’d prefer to see new aircraft come from Carenado, but I suppose it makes more business sense to remake their existing fleet as they’ll have all the necessary information from the previous projects.
