The next version 10 of X-Plane by Laminar Research is still being prepared and will feature, among other, a new world scenery engine.
It can be described as an Autogen-like generator of cities and country made of roads, streets, buildings and houses to paint different styles of scenery using realistic and photoreal detailed 3D objects. More infos at X-Plane dev’s blog.

I’m wondering if x-plane 10 will have “blurry textures” that we’ve seen with MS FSX.

In my humble opinion FSX developers should change their job 😉
If you think how many hours you need sometime to invest to optimize FSX and for what ?
Only to have less stutters or blurry textures also on high end system!!! After years of Flight Simulation I’m tired and thanks to FSX…..
Looks nice, but I have seen better scenery (addon) in FSX. Stock scenery either X-plane or MSFS sucks, what makes it good is the developers who make addons.
So X-Plane has discovered autogen. Is it placed even vaguely correctly yet? Does it allow for accurate placement of new sceneries adjacent to/around linear features (roads, rivers, rails)? Or is just a rehash of the same old same old entirely random placement?
Anyone know?
Still no AI traffic… Can’t fly the lonely skies, guess we’ll see what happens with X-Plane 11.
