As promised in his press release at the weekend, Bill Womack already had a project waiting in the wings to announce as the first project for iBlueYonder. That scenery is Nantucket, just off the coast of Massachusetts, USA, and its Memorial Airport (KACK).
“As a follow-up to our popular Plum Island scenery, we’re happy to announce that we’ve set our sights on the island of Nantucket, Massachusetts. The one-time whaling center of the US is now a quaint vacation getaway that boasts a surprisingly large, capable airport.”

“The first official iBlueYonder release will take us back to the coast of New England – or just off it, actually. As a follow-up to our popular Plum Island scenery, we’re happy to announce that we’ve set our sights on the island of Nantucket, Massachusetts. The one-time whaling center of the US is now a quaint vacation getaway that boasts a surprisingly large, capable airport.
Hundred Dollar Burger: Nantucket will include the islands of Nantucket, Tuckernuck, and Muskeget in 5-season photo-real terrain with autogen, along with a detailed rendition of Nantucket Memorial Airport (KACK). We’ll be posting more dev shots very soon. To get us kicked off, here’s a sneak peek at the main KACK terminal in the 3D modeling program (naked, with no textures just yet)…”
Er, that’s moved on *to* FSX.
Sorry, no. I moved on from FSX in 2006-07, and haven’t produced anything for it since. I’m not likely to go back to it.
Not sure, but I doubt. Bill is used to work a lot on mesh, landclass, Autogen, smooth integration with default scenery and that’s not pretty easy to adapt such work into FS2004.
Do we know if this will be for FS9 too?
