Airport Overview
FSCGAA, new indie developer from Asia have released a new scenery in Myanmar with their rendition of Naypyidaw International Airport located in Republic Nation of Myanmar located in South-east Asia. Made available to P3Dv4 earlier last month, this is not the first airport that FSCGAA has released in the region along with some small VFR airports in China back in 2019. FSCGAA is also known for their African airport release series which more can be found out about in this link here. Airport Operations are currently limited to local routes such as the capital of Yangon and northern city of Mandalay, these routes are operated by Myanmar National Airlines with Turboprop Aircrafts. The airport has one main runway and a small runway that is located on the airfield. Additionally, there is a full terminal at the airport with 10 Jetways and various remote parking areas including a VIP terminal located in the center of the airport.
Airport Features
The FSCGAA product offers amazing features which take advantage of the latest P3D technologies such as Animated Jetways (SODE), High resolution ground textures / Custom runway textures, High resolution building textures, models that are Optimized for excellent performance, Ground polygons made with the requirements of the SDK Prepar3D, Dynamic lighting of the apron and Shading and occlusion (texture baking) effects on terminal and other airport buildings.
It would be nice to have an expanded, Mesh/Terrain product that could complement this scenery to give views of the fantastic approaches as the country of Myanmar is treasured with some amazing greenery and landscapes.
Modelling and Texturing
After carefully examining the terminal and its features, FSCGAA have used high quality textures and have modelled all the major airport buildings with emphasis on high quality texturing and details of the apron.
Without a doubt, the modelling is of high P3D addon quality, the details included near the main terminal which shows that FSCGAA have put a lot of effort and work into the product and its features and noticeably on the ground markings and their effects which have a realistic effect (See Screenshot). have also included a variety of ground vehicles which have been placed around the parking positions features which go flawlessly along with any ground addon such as GSX.
Final Feedback
To anyone who is looking to fly into Naypyitaw in P3D, I would highly recommend FSCGAA version for the interesting routes, approaches and views that will be accompanied while landing. It shows that they have put extensive effort into their version whilst including all the major and important P3D features such as PBR, custom runway lighting system and Dynamic Lighting features. I look forward to the next update of the FSCGAA version with now P3D v5.4 and v6 are released. I hope that the team will push out and hope that they will be able to develop additional similar airports in this part of the region as there is a shortage in our current market around Southeast Asia and it would be lovely to see major Asian airports get the FSCGAA treatment.
