DC Designs is working on the Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker project for Microsoft Flight Simulator, in partnership with Just Flight as publisher. This aircraft is built with native MSFS ‘Model Behaviors’ animations and operational specifications, ensuring compatibility with future simulator upgrades. It features custom HTML-coded cockpit instruments for high performance, authentic cockpit night lighting with brightness controls, and custom-coded maneuvering flaps and slats. The Su-27 Flanker also includes fully controllable angle of attack (AoA) and G-limiters, enabling advanced maneuvers like the ‘Cobra’ and ‘Tailslide’.

The Su-27 Flanker comes with numerous external animations, including canopy, crew ladders, Foreign Object Damage doors, and control surfaces. It supports Virtual Reality headsets and includes a full WWise custom sound set recorded from the real aircraft. The cockpit is labeled in Cyrillic Russian text with English tooltips for user convenience, and a full interactive checklist and operations manual are provided to assist users. The aircraft’s operational systems include a radar capable of detecting AI and multiplayer targets, display screens mimicking the real aircraft’s systems, and a Head-Up Display with an authentic layout. Additionally, users can control ordnance via the simulator’s Payload Manager.

This aircraft offers several paint schemes, including those for various air forces such as Ukrainian, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. A Paint Kit will be also available for customization. DC Designs aims to deliver a highly detailed yet accessible aircraft, equipped with necessary avionics and custom-coded animations, making it less demanding to fly than complex procedural simulators while still providing a realistic experience.
