Backcountry Pilots Unite Here

One of the Emma Field Club members found this wonderful site for bush and mountain pilots, called Shortfield.com. “…… Shortfield.com is an online community for backcountry aviation and airplane camping enthusiasts working together to create a comprehensive database to document and share information about backcountry airstrips.

The site is built around an FAA database of United States landing facilities, supplemented by a growing library of backcountry airstrip information contributed by users: airport wiki, pilot reports, photographs, approach videos, sectional maps, and more! Please set-up a free user account and share your knowledge of backcountry airstrips…..”.

  1. Hi folks
If you are interested by bush pilots adventures you can buy on simmarket an excellent dvd about Idaho veteran bush pilot. Herb Milhorn take you to an amazing Idaho risky airstrips tour!!! You can even fly almost these airstrips on FSX. The difficulty is to find a virtual cessna 185 skywagon… If you have an idea… Enjoy!
