FSGenesis’ Cry For Help

FSGstoreheaderlogoJustin Tyme’s FSGenesis, the world’s premier supplier of add-on mesh for Flight Simulator, is in dire straits judging for a renewed cry for help from him. Justin has been supplying the FS communities with his products for over 10 years now, and is feeling the recent crunch in sales, as are many other small-time entrepreneurs in this industry.

This is of course not ONLY because of the global financial woes, but also related to a trend many have been seeing over the past 18 months with dwindling add-on sales due to a certain saturation in the market, a split between FS9 and FSX users, a steadily rising price level of add-ons and maybe a move to other simualtions and games in general.

If you feel you want to help Justin and keep him working on his add-ons, you can find his shop here.

  2. You should not let this type of material on your site. we now have on line begging. At one time on hos site he was asking for money due to his divorce.

  3. Since we’re talking about begging can you guys loan me a couple of dollars???

  4. Just joking, I’ll donate to Justin as I feel he’s done outstanding work over the years…

  5. Probably going to get flamed for this, but instead of asking for donations why not reduce your prices.

You’ll probably find the people who will only donate are the ones who have purchased your products. I myself has never purchased one of your items, so reducing the price could very well bring in new customers.

Also, I appreciate that times are hard but asking for donations could act as a deterrent to your site. I cannot speak for others but I personally would be put off if a commercial vendor started asking for donations; if its a non profit organisation then its a different story.

    I hope I don’t offend anyone.

  6. Hardly offending, JP.

Just for the record.. I was not asked to publish this, but found it as an email in my inbox (being a long-time customer, a colleague and a news guy) and thought it interesting enough to put up here.
